Mayor Tere Jiménez announced that Aguascalientes will be one of the first municipalities to pay its public debt, which since 2009 generated an interest of approximately 5 million pesos per year.
Currently the public debt is 74 million pesos and to be paid two payments will be made: the first was made today for an amount of 24 million pesos to BBVA Bancomer bank. In addition, the mayor Tere Jiménez said that soon would liquidate 50 million more to the National Bank of Public Works and Services (BANOBRAS).
The municipal president also mentioned that at the beginning of her administration (January 1, 2017) the debt was 154 million pesos; one year later, in 2018, it was 116 million pesos; finally on January 1, 2019 the debt was 74 million, so that today only 50 million remain.
The mayor Tere Jiménez announced that thanks to the punctual payments of the property it was possible that the culmination of the municipal public debt was achieved. It should be noted that increased 20% the number of people who paid their property on time compared to last year.
